she's a bunny

she is not the monnkeyiest, per se, that remark only illustratrates the adaptability of memory. sophia was just as much of a rascule. back then we weren't such arrogant parents and we still went to the trouble to actually baby-proof rooms. now we just drop her down wherever and pretend that the eyes on the back of our heads are perfect. she seems to benefit from it at any rate. it is, however, true to say that she is the baby'est of babies: she loves her infant-hood, revels in it fully, and can scarcely find a thing to complain abt. she is also the 'est of our babies in another respect: she is the bunnyiest. behold those little bunny teeth. they are really lapin-esque, n'est pas? she has been grinding them since she had opposing teeth to grind. and she our first and only first-rate waver. that is all...

Smelly Belly

Here is my idea. Show you the kids every week. They grow up fast, so check them out and see what they are doing. Cybele is the kid I want to profile this week. She is learning to walk right now, which means she is getting into all sorts of mischief. She is definitely the monkeyiest baby we ever made and needs constant watching. Most of the time we let her crawl around the playroom and we create this wall of what we believed to be babyproof ottomans to keep her in it. No such luck. A few weeks ago Cybele was alone for a few minutes in the playroom and then 'poof' suddenly she is in the kitchen. Checked the babyproof wall for cracks or holes but none were discovered. So we waited and watched and soon enough learned that Cybele, in addition to being a proficient crawler, is an excellent climber. So now she is trying to add walking to her repertoire. Walking so far consists of standing taking one step and sitting. Nana saw her take four steps the other day, but the rest of us have only seen the stand-step-sit routine. Here is a picture of Cybele with her favorite big brother.
